A Lost Little Girl - Part 2

Rennie Back in the Forest
Rennie went back out to look for her friend Zoe, who was still lost. She called and called, but Zoe did not respond.

Dana
Dana knew Rennie was getting discouraged and went out to help.

Bucky Beagle
Dana had the great idea to bring out Bucky Beagle to help look for Zoe! Rennie thought that was a good idea, too.

Bucky Beagle
Dana took off the leash and Bucky started to run. He sniffed the air...

The Other Way!
Wait! He has picked up a scent in the opposite direction!

The girls took off following the pup and trying to keep up.

Oops!
Oops! Dana fell down. [this is actually a blooper!]

A Playground
"Look!" cried Rennie. "A playground! We always dreamed of being able to visit one of these."

"Woof"
"Woof! Woof! Woof!" said Bucky. He was looking up at the top of the climbing structure.

Meet Zoe
And there, peering out from the top was a little red headed girl. It was Zoe! "You found me!" she cried. "I climbed up to the top of this big structure to get a better view and figure out where to go."

Zoe climbed down and got a hug from Rennie. "I'm so glad we found you. Thanks to Bucky," said Rennie.

The Three Girls
Rennie introduced Zoe to Dana and they all enjoyed the happy ending.

And Bucky had a happy ending, too.

A Lost Little Girl - Part 1

A doll shop was closing and the dolls whispered to each other about their fears of what would happen to them. Some said they would be thrown in a bin and taken to a dump. Other's said they would end up in a pile in a thrift store with their clothes lost and hair all matted. Some of the girls decided to take matters into their own hands and run away. Adrienne was one of them. She goes by "Rennie" and convinced her best friend, Zoe, to join her. So, one morning before the shop opened they climbed out of their boxes and through an open window.

Little Girl in the Forest

I found little Rennie in the forest looking lost and confused. She and Zoe had been separated when being chased by a cat.

Adrienne

I told Rennie she could come live with us in the doll world of Pleasantview and we would take good care of her. We went home together to have some lunch, promising to go back out and look for her friend later.

...to be continued...

Veteran's Day Parade

The Journey Girls were invited to participate in the Veteran's Day parade. The pompom squad and the majorette enjoyed the special day.

A Little Snow

Kiki was very excited to wake up to snow. It looks so pretty on the pine trees.

It Snowed!

Ice!

The water that comes off one part of the roof runs down a chain and when it froze it made a lovely ice sculpture.

Untitled

The sun is coming out and the snow will not last, but we can look forward to a bigger snow that the girls can play in sometime.

Marta is Home

Marta was off visiting a friend and just got home. She was glad to be back and explored the backyard.

DSC_0382
She saw that the aspens have just started to change colors.

Some of the leaves are relish in color.

Climbing in the elm tree is always lots of fun.

It feels like both fall and summer at the same time in the garden.

Finally, she enjoyed the play structure and slide.

Welcome home, Marta!

Fall In The Garden

Kiki's Pumpkin

Today Chavonne and I enjoyed a lovely, warm day in the garden. I decided to pick the pumpkin I grew.

Chavonne

Chavonne was feeling lazy with the warm sunshine. She's posing next to a large, old cottonwood tree.

Relaxing

Then she decided to just sit on the bench and watch the birds and the clouds.

Hope you are having a nice autumn!

Journey Girls - Photos and Review

Today I thought I would take over Kiki's blog to share two of my Journey Girls. They were all purchased at a very deep discount from Toys R Us. My opinion only, but I think the faces are very pretty and their eyes are beautiful. The bodies are not as nice as the AG's, and kind of look like where AG might be heading with the flatter bottoms. I like the vinyl breastplate which makes sleeveless and lower collared clothes look good. The hair is rooted and is perhaps not the quality of an AG wig, but is pretty, shiny and soft. The clothing made by JG is excellent with lovely fabrics and finished seams. It's actually better than many of AGs newer outfits, but won't fit the AGs since the JGs are slimmer which is too bad. The shoes don't fit AGs either. JGs have narrower feet that are also a tiny bit longer. I think of these girls as a bit older than my AGs, perhaps 10 - 12 years old, whereas my AGs are only 9 or 10.

Friends

Here are two girls with Kiki for comparison. Kerry on the left is wearing an outfit from Michael's. Kerry's hair is very thick, a lovely color and her green eyes are especially nice. They are a bit more green in real life, but this was just a photo taken with my phone. Julia in the middle is wearing an OG outfit. By the way, this OG outfit has real embroidery on the shirt and it's a nice sturdy cotton. The shorts are cute with a tie in front, but were much too tight for Kiki to wear. The outfit came with the bag, headband and sandals which I forgot to use. Julia's hair is not as thick as Kerry's, but I like the color and shine.

And a few more photos:

Twins?
I find these girls to fit nicely in my doll collection, like the variety, and appreciate being able to pick up a little something for them at a low cost. I do have a variety of dolls in my collection and enjoy these so thought I'd share.

Kiki Catches Cold

Kiki is Sick!
"What are you doing in bed, Kiki?" asked Rosie. "It's a gorgeous, warm day outside and you of all people should be out there enjoying it. The daffodils are even blooming!"

Sorry Crouton
"Sorry, Rosie. I have a terrible cold and have to stay in bed," replied a sad Kiki.

Chicken Soup
Word got out that Kiki was sick in bed and friends began to arrive. Grace made her some chicken soup.

Anna helps
Anna arrived and knew just what Kiki needed...

Hot Tea
Hot tea and honey!

Too Much!
But, soon too many people were coming in with too many things and poor Kiki was overwhelmed, until Josefina arrived.

Stop!
"¡Basta! That's enough!" called out Josefina. "You've all been helpful, but now it's time to let Kiki rest."

Kiki Needs Rest
Josefina tucked Kiki into bed and told her to have a nice nap.

Time to Go
The girls left the room quietly. "Feel better, Kiki!" they whispered. I hope she feels better quickly and can get out to enjoy this lovely spring weather.

Kiki Visits New York City

I just spent six days in NYC and Kiki came along. She spent quite a bit of time in the hotel room because I didn't want carry her around on the subway and through the crowded streets. We stayed on Times Square, right in the heart of things.

Out The Window
This is one view out of the hotel, looking toward the Hudson River.

Bright Lights
NYC
And the streets outside at night.

But, of course, there was one outing where Kiki had to come along...

AG Store NYC
The American Girl store!

The Newest Kids
Two new kids were right at the entrance to greet us: Tenney and Logan, of course!

Kiki Meets Logan
Logan was very popular. One little girl had hers already out of the box so we asked if we could take a photo.

AG Shopping
The store was really busy, but we had fun looking around.

Kiki at Rockefeller center
After visiting the store, we stopped to watch the ice skaters at Rockefeller Center and then walked back to the hotel.

Melinda's last outing in the city was a very special one:

Hamilton!
Outside the theater...

Kiki at Rockefeller center
And the set before the show started.

Yep! She got to see Hamilton and it was all she had imagined and much, much more.
